Trickle Irrigation For Hydroponic Gardens
This is because it applies water slowly and directly to the root zone of the hydroponic plants. Thus water is not unnecessarily wasted around the redundant parts of the plant body. Due to this, a lot of water is saved. The Trickle emitter is placed near the base of the plant trickle. Thus it can form a continuous supply of water at the roots of these hydroponic plants. The trickle irrigation can be put on a timer or left to run continuously. One more advantage of using trickle irrigation is that the irrigation systems can be built easily. Further there are ready kits available for this purpose. In this type of feeding plants the nutrient solution is made to flow continuously over the plant roots. This is done by pumping the nutrient solution from the reservoir through a ½ -inch irrigation tube. This ½ inch tube is further branched into a number of 1/8-inch irrigation tubes. These smaller tubes deliver the solution to the containers. In case if there is an excess solution in this container than it is collected at the base of each container. This excess solution is then returned to the nutrient reservoir. A wide variety of flow rates can be adjusted using trickle irrigation. Also a uniform flow rate of the nutrients can also be maintained. The important thing one has to know while using trickle irrigation is the use of a proper tube design for a particular plant. |
