Using The Rockwool System In Hydroponic Gardening

FREE Christian Ebooks

Water and soil or media provides all the required nutrients to the plants and this system known as hydroponic system. Many types of media and material like perlite, gravel, and rockwool are used in hydroponic gardening system. The material, which supports the root system except soil is called as a substrate. Peat, pine bark, rice hulls, sawdust is used as substrate in hydroponics gardening. Rockwool is one of the substrates that use in the hydroponic gardening.
A man made light fibrous material is used as an insulator, called as Rockwool. Insulators used as dosage for the plants in gardening. You can change the quality of rockwool by adjusting mineral material in the substrate. Spinning melt, and basaltic rocks can be used into fiber; the material, which remains after melting, is called the Rockwool. The spinning melt, basaltic rocks melt into fiber and make Rockwool substrate. There is deference in every rockwool substrate. A high-grade rockwoll is the most important quality. It could wet but will not remain water soaked. Therefore you need good drainage system.

It has many characteristics, which are different according to quality and quantity. There are oil elements in fiber therefore it is naturally hydrophobic. Many times oil elements are removed so that will attract towards the water and could be wet properly. Many times other chemical are used for manufacturing the rockwool. To wet easily is the basic purpose behind using chemicals in the rockwool. Testing is the best way to decide the quality of the different rockwools.

Rockwool successfully provides the requirements elements to plants like tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers. To supply remaining nutrients to the roots is the basic work of the rockwool. Plants need it when they maintain enough air around roots. If plants will not get air even for a moment crops will die. So use proper rockwool that will help to plants growth. It is like security for garden or plants.

The rockroll has grate capacity to hold water and provide proper nutrients to roots. It is flexible substrate. It means the rockwoll provides more or less air whenever the plants required. It also supplies more or less water whenever plants need. And therefore plants may get enough nutrients with the help of rockwool. It increases the air automatically. So using rockwool in hydroponic gardening system is very good idea.
