In hydroponic systems, nutrients are provided through water to the plants. In this system the water plays main role. And therefore the system is divided into many categories in terms of water providing methods. For example, in the Trickle System an air pump is used to supply water to the plants.

A mechanical pump with a timer is used in the Ebb and Flow system. The hydroponic system includes many categories such as Ebb and Flow system, the Trickle System, NFT Gardening, Drip Irrigation method and Aquaponic System. Less investment of everything and more production, faster results, regular results are the main principles or features of the hydroponic gardening or farming.

Categories of an Active Hydroponic System As you know Hydroponics system is divided into some categories in terms of water providing methods. Some categories are explained here.

Aquaponic System: In this method the grow medium is used very less. Sometimes grow medium will not be used. It means mediums do not provided or fill up directly in the containers. They are provided through the water and other nutrients. The term Aquaponic is supposed to be an air drive. By using a water pump solutions are continuously provided to the plants through the water. It is useful in large garden. It gives result effectively where the wide rang of plants are.

NFT Garden: Nutrient Film Technique is the long form of the NFT. In this system water is continuously supplied through pumps. It is more useful for commercial gardens than the home gardens. If an electric power will off watering system will be stopped. At this a generator can be used to provide water.

Drip irrigation water: A water pump is used to supply water from reservoir. The water pump is attached to the main feeding line and then water is provided to the containers through the line. Each plant gets proper and similar water. Generally, this system is used in big gardens and greenhouses.

It is useful even in limited water area. Keep reservoirs a bit long from the grow beds. You can also plant new corps in the garden at anytime and provide water using this system. Just add new drip line for each new crop or plant and water can be supplied to the plants. It is flexible system regarding water supply.
